MUMBAI: The entire cast of Anupamaa is very hardworking and all the actors are immensely talented.

In conversation with Mehul Nisar, who plays the role of Rupali Ganguly’s brother in the show had a one on one conversation with Tellychakkar.com and he had very interesting things to say about the show and his co-star.

Mehul shared, “It has been extremely satisfying being a part of the show. I am not a part of the main family so as and when they require to shoot, I am called. I have had some very good scenes with Rupali. She is so unlike Anupama. She is a very different person which says so much about her acting talent. We got along very well. We shot the Rakhi sequence on the actual day of Rakhi. I do not believe in making Rakhi sisters for the sake of but this time it was actually a moment where we both felt that it is rakhshabandhan and she is actually going to tie rakhi on my wrist so I will consider her my sister and will continue this ritual for a lifetime.”

Talking about Anupamaa being a show which is a standout, Mehul said, “Rajan Shahi’s shows are very entertaining and Anupamaa is a very family oriented show and most of the characters are not black or white. If you see other TV shows, very conveniently, the writers make a character which is either single or two dimensional where if a character is shown to be wrong or negative, there are reasons why the person is like that and their actions are justified. In Anupama, if we take Baa, where her things are justified like she says main saas hu aur saas toh aise hi hoti hai, mein paida hi saas hone ke liye hui thi. She says things in such a jovial way and also inspite of the fact that she taunts, one will not hate her. There are many layers to every character. Like Anirudh, they could have made him an out and out antagonist. But they have beautifully justified him that he has his own insecurities and he could not take care of a wife who was more successful than him.

Things are actually working for the show. One might consider this an underdog story but it is the way the show is written and the characters are designed that even the actors enjoy what they are doing and that comes across the screens. Another production house if I have to name is Hat’s Off Productions. All their shows and characters are beautifully woven and that’s why its shows stand out. “
