She (Bhavna) surely is a perfectionist but is also afraid of losing control - Meghna Malik

Meghna Malik
She has played the no nonsense rural Ammaji mouthing the Haryvani dialect to perfection. Once again Meghna Malik is playing a strong woman in Life OK’s Gustakh Dil (Ravi Ojha Productions) albeit with a difference. Bhavna (the character Meghna essays in this series) is a sophisticated social worker from Delhi who is dainty and seemingly poised. A gay character in the serial complimented her saying that she seems to be a typical Page 3 lady. Speaking on her character Meghna says, “I play a lady from the upper middle class. I was given a character brief. In TV you don’t get a detailed character sketch. Instead the character fleshes out as the story progresses. Ammaji spoke a very different dialect from Bhavna. Whereas Ammaji would gesticulate a lot while speaking, Bhavna is far restrained in her hand movements.” As it has already been revealed on the show, Bhavna feels no forgiveness in her heart for her son Nikhil (Vibhav Roy) whom she has for years been holding responsible for her son’s death. She is surely a strong lady but somewhere there lurks vulnerability within her too. Meghna elaborates, “She surely is a perfectionist but she is also afraid of losing control. After all, she continues to battle a family tragedy. She is still endeavouring to cope with the death of her son and pretends to be in control of things while living in pain day in and day out. Passive aggression prevails in her. She is trying to get back to normalcy. Indeed she is a complex character.” Will this show once again turn into a saas bahu saga with Bhavna developing an aversion to her daughter-in-law Laajo (Sana Sheikh) for being a rustic village girl? Or will she be on her side and advice her not to observe Karva Chauth for her husband Nikhil as he loves another woman? Tellychakkar.com hopes that it doesn’t turn into a regular saas bahu drama. Meghna replied, “I will convey your message to the writers. I also hope that this serial doesn’t drift to the saas bahu genre. I hope the writers do full justice to Bhavna’s character and it evolves as beautifully as Ammaji’s character had.” We wish Meghna all the luck and success!!!
