Sumona Chakravarti excited to be a part of Comdey Circus

Sumona Chakravarti
Viewers of Sony Entertainment’s Bade Achhe Lagte Hain have seen Sumona Chakravarti as the selfish rich brat Natasha Kapoor. But now they will see the actress in a different avatar. She will now try to tickle your funny bone in Optimystix’s Kahaani Comedy Circus Ki on the same channel, where she has been paired with comedian Kapil Sharma. Though now the actress is kicked about the comedy show, initially she was hesitant. “I have never attempted this genre before but my personality is such that when I am hesitant I push that much harder. The best part of doing a stage show is that you never know what the reaction will be plus you need to not only laugh at others but be prepared to get brickbats yourself,” reveals Sumona. But is it a challenge to be paired with Kapil Sharma, who has won some many previous seasons of this series? “Yes, I was nervous for I did not want to let him down. But the very first day we met he landed a comic punch and all the tensions just melted away. Now we are having lots of fun,” says a happy Sumona. However, she is not exactly happy with her fame. “I just can’t go the mall at any time of the day. Now I can go only on early weekday mornings, otherwise people hound me,” gushes the lady. In fact, they tell her that she is totally opposite from her onscreen character and comes across as a nice human being in real life. “They are also pleasantly surprised that I look much younger and smaller in person,” she smiles. Talking of Ekta Kapoor’s Bade Achhe…, the actress thinks that her character Natasha, fondly called Nuts, is not totally wrong. “If you look from her perspective, she is not wrong. She was born with a silver spoon in her mouth and is a career oriented woman,” she says. According to the current track, Sumona’s character has aborted her child. So what does she have to say on this? “Even Kartik (played by Mohit Malhotra) had initially expressed reservations about being able to take the burden of a child so early. But she should have taken her hubby into confidence before taking such a monumental step,” feels the actress. In fact, she is all praises for the production house, “Agreed we work for longs hours continuously and there is no bank but working like this makes us ready to face all aspects of the industry, be it good, bad or ugly,” ends Sumona who has previously worked in Balaji Telefilms’ Kasamh SeKasturi.
