MUMBAI: Popular filmmaker Karan Johar who is famous for brewing interesting gossip has been surfacing headlines for his controversial remarks against Dunki actress Nayanthara. Fans of Nayanthara are furious with the Koffee With Karan host for showing disrespect towards the actress.
During their conversation, Karan displayed Ormax Media's list of most popular female stars in the country, which is topped by Samantha. To this, Samantha replied that she just worked with Nayanthara in Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal. "Well, I recently did a film with Nayanthara,” Samantha said, adding that Nayanthara is the biggest actress down South.
However, Karan did not agree and quipped that his list doesn’t say so. Karan’s response did not go down well with Nayanthara fans as they believe that the producer-director disregarded their beloved actress’ popularity.
Taking to Twitter, they came down heavily upon Karan and called him out for being ‘disrespectful’.
“The way Kjo disrespected #Nayanthara breaks my heart I mean how can someone be this cocky and disrespectful towards such an actor... Never liked him..but now, he's seriously a waste material and nothing else,” wrote one user.
Another said, “Karan Johar doesnt have any right to shame #Nayanthara on his stupid Koffee show. You cannot even achieve half of what she has achieved."

Meanwhile, Nayanthara has teamed up with Shah Rukh Khan for Atlee’s Jawan. The pan-India film is slated to hit the screens in June 2023.
