MUMBAI: Actor Bobby Deol in an exclusive interview with Tellychakkar.com talks about his upcoming movie Love Hostel. The actress talks about his character in the movie,  the challenges he faces while getting into the skin of his role, and who is his biggest critic.

Bobby Deol on his character in Love Hostel

My character is who has lost someone in life and someone whom he used to worship. The reason behind how he lost that person makes him what he is. After losing that someone, he believes whatever he is doing in life is right. He can’t take nonsense from anyone. He will go out of the way to end that person. For me, I have been trying to play different kinds of characters because I was sick and tired of playing these flamboyant and rich characters. OTT platforms have given me the opportunities to play different kinds of characters. And people have actually noticed my work now. That has really made me happy. I have never seen such a negative character getting an amazingly positive reaction from the audience. For me, it's an achievement and people have started noticing me.

Bobby Deol on challenges he faces while getting into the skin of his character

Everybody has good and bad in them. You are a good person because you know how to control the bad in you. So when I play the characters which are negative I let that emotion out. And I start believing in that character for that moments. So that when I performed, I should feel it and I feel justified to it. That’s how I work on myself. I never spoke Hariyanvi in my life, so I did a lot of workshops to learn the language. Nowadays, I look out for characters that are out of my comfort zone. That’s why this character will always be very special to me.

Bobby Deol on his biggest critic

My wife Tanya is my biggest critic. There was a time when she told me that you didn’t take care of yourself. You look disinterested in the character.
