MUMBAI: Sushmita Sen, the acclaimed actress known for her impactful roles, opens up about the empowering experience of portraying Aarya Sareen in the upcoming season of the crime-thriller series 'Aarya.' The series, which garnered International Emmy nominations, delves into the life of Aarya, an independent woman who takes on the criminal underworld to avenge her husband's murder.

In the trailer unveiled on Tuesday, the narrative takes a more intense turn, showcasing Aarya facing challenging situations, including an attempt at suicide. Sushmita Sen shares her perspective on the character, stating, "Being Aarya Sareen on screen gave me a sense of power during times when I could not pick myself up."

Creator Ram Madhvani reflects on the evolution of the character, emphasizing the impact of fearless women in his life. As the upcoming season, titled 'Aarya Antim Vaar,' promises a showdown and emotional depth, Madhvani hints at a ghayal sherni (injured lioness) in action like never before, ready to sacrifice everything for her family.

'Aarya Antim Vaar,' created and co-directed by Ram Madhvani, is set to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on February 9. The series also features a talented ensemble cast, including Ila Arun, Sikandar Kher, Indraneil Sengupta, and others, promising an emotional and gripping season.
