Murder will be remembered forever - Emraan Hashmi

Emraan Hashmi

A film that made Emraan Hashmi a household name in Bollywood, Murder completed its 11 years yesterday. Seen as the first major no holds barred film from the Bhatt camp, Murder created a major stir for its ultra bold scenes featuring newcomers Emraan Hashmi and Mallika Sherawat. Their sizzling chemistry and plethora of onscreen kisses made the movie a sleeper hit in Bollywood.

Today even 11 years after its release, the movie still remains fresh in the minds of the audience and Twitter too is abuzz with hashtag '11 years of Murder' trending all over.

Shares Emraan, " It was a great film and will remembered forever. That is why it's still fresh in the minds of people and is trending today. We had a great time shooting as we were a bunch of new people then -me, Anurag Basu, Mallika Sherawat, Ashmit Patel. We had a great time shooting in Bangkok and Mumbai."

Ask him if a movie like Murder can be made today given the new moralistic stand of the Censor Board and Emraan says, "I think people have moved on and done a lot more stuff now. I don't know how the Censor Board operates. I guess if you are lucky you will find a midway. But i guess it should be aesthetically done. It should look good on screen. That is important. "

Talking about his upcoming release, Mr. X, Emraan says,"It is a mixed bag. It has both sci-fi drama and love story as far as genre is concerned. It takes me back to the 90s, when I loved seeing Chota Chetan. It's a medium of 3d that has not much been explored much."
