In a first, Nikhil Advani has teamed up with some of this year’s National award winners for his upcoming feature film titled D-Day. The film will star Irrfan Khan, Rishi Kapoor and Arjun Rampal. The last two have earlier won National Film Awards. D-Day will also star Huma Qureshi and Shruti Haasan. D-Day revolves around the infamous gangster-Dawood Ibrahim, who operated from Mumbai during the 90’s. This film has been grabbing lots of attention lately with its subject that calls out for justice for the victims of the 1993 serial bomb blasts in Mumbai. Nikhil Advani’s National award winning team’s movie is slated to release this 2013. Incidentally, Advani bagged an award for the Best Animation Film for his film Delhi Safari while Irrfan Khan won the Best Actor award for his appearance in Paan Singh Tomar. Music directors Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy have also been roped in to provide background score for the film. Shankar Mahadevan has also won this year’s National award in the best playback singer category.
