Controversy’s favourite child, singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya, is again making headlines for all wrong reasons.

After his infamous tweet about Salman Khan’s accident case, and Pakistani artists, this time we hear that the singer has been accused of molesting a woman at Lokhandwala Durga puja pandal.

Media reports suggested that the a 34 year old woman has filed a complaint at Oshiwara police station against Abhijeet for inappropriately touching her during Kailesh Kher’s concert. Post the incident, IPC sections of 354 (a) (sexual harassment), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) and 34 were registered against Abhijeet.

An inspector was quoted saying to the media that while the programme was going on the lady suddenly stood up in between the rows that blocked the view of the audience, who were sitting at the back. When people asked her to move from the place and sit, she refused to do so. Then Abhijeet, one of the organizers of Lokhandwala Durga puja, stepped in to sort the matter and had a huge argument with the victim. Finally when things went out of his hand, Abhijeet tried to forcefully move her from the place and while doing so, he inappropriately touched the lady.

On the other hand, denying the harassment charges, Abhijeet also said to the media that he only had an argument with the woman, whose uncle is also among the organizers.

The officials added that any further legal step will be taken only after the primary police investigation.
