For someone who gave the nation its love anthem in the form of sun raha hain na tu, Ankit Tiwari's real life love story is nowhere close to being called a fairytale one. Arrested today on charges of rape levelled against him by his ex girlfriend, Ankit's budding film career has hit a major and unimaginable roadblock. So where exactly did this Kanpur born multi talented singer composer go wrong? Says a source close to both parties, “Ankit first met this girl at a big Durga puja event organised by a big shot businessman at Andheri in October, last year (2013). The girl was handling the event and Ankit was called in as a performer for the evening. It was here that the two first met and love blossomed almost immediately.” If the source is to be believed, then two apparently got intimate that very night itself in a hotel room. Continues the source, "The twosome then used to regularly meet each other but they were certainly not living in together. Ankit used to reside at Goregaon and the girl at Andheri. The two were madly in love with each other. In fact, within 15 days of meeting each other, the two decided to get hitched and the decision was taken at a CCD in Shastri Nagar in the presence of the big shot businessman who had organised the Durga Puja." The thaw in the relationship, according to the source, happened when Ankit was informed about the girl's divorcee status. The girl, who is in her late 30, had apparently not disclosed the fact that she was a divorcee with a daughter. As soon as, Ankit discovered this, he started maintaining his distance from the girl much to her dismay. At this stage, his elder brother Ankur also stepped in and encouraged Ankit to snap ties with the girl. Their family also started looking out for a girl from Kanpur to get Ankit hitched. Our source adds that the girl couldn't bear this and she started exerting pressure on him to marry. That is when Ankit's elder brother Ankur also allegedly stepped in and asked the girl to back off but to no avail. "The girl with her sister once dropped in at Ankit's residence to coax him to take her back into his life but Ankit refused," says our source and added that the crestfallen girl sobbed her heart out sitting at a bus stop. There were also murmurs of she having lodged a complaint against Ankit in the month of March but both parties denied the news when we spoke to them. While it is being reported that Ankit allegedly raped the girl while Ankur threatened her at knife point, our source believes it is all a trumped up charge made to falsely implicate Ankit. Our source also points out the fact that media reports the girl as being a 28- year old where as in reality she is well over 30, as per the source. Meanwhile, Ankit's lawyer, Nagesh Mishra refuted all rape allegations. As of now Ankit has been sent to police custody till 12 May while Ankur has been remanded to judicial custody. Did Ankit really commit the unpardonable crime or is it another case of an innocent man falling prey to the vile charms of a vampish woman? Well, that is something for the court to decide.
