Comedy is meant to spread happiness. But sometimes, there’s a twist in the tale.

Tellychakkar.com has exclusive information that comic actor Rehman Khan (37), who earned fame via the much appreciated show Comedy Circus, was arrested on rape charges yesterday (8 March 2016).

We have information that a 30 year old woman (resident of Mumbai) filed charges against Rehman on 29 February at Santacruz Police station.

The woman mentioned that the two got in touch via social media App WeChat a year back. During their course of friendship, Rehman allegedly took Rs 2 lakh as loan from her. Recently when she demanded her money back, the actor called her to a hotel in Vasai where he reportedly raped her. The woman also accused him to have filmed the act, which he has been using as a blackmail tool.

Santacruz police station transferred the case to Waliv police station in Vasai. After an intense search, Rehman was arrested yesterday from Kurla.

He will be presented in court today afternoon.

Inspector Narayan Patil from the Waliv Police Station shared with Tellychakkar.com, “We arrested the comedian last night and today we will be presenting the case in the Vasai Court. The man has been booked under charges of rape, cheating and also sections under the Information Technology Act (namely Sec 376, 346, 509, 406, 506 323, and 333). We will be able to give you more information only post the court proceedings.”

But giving insight to the case he further shared, “Rehman and the victim were close and shared intimate talks. The man took advantage of the friendship and took a loan of Rs 2 lakh from her and also promised to marry her. And then in the pretext of giving back the money, he called her to the Vasai hotel where he raped her.”
