Pratyusha Banerjee’s untimely demise has been creating ripples in the media with a few claiming it to be a suicide, while others favouring the theory that she has been murdered. The unfortunate incident took an ugly turn when a phone conversation between actress Dolly Bindra and Pratyusha’s mom, Soma Banerjee, was released in the media. Later on, another picture featuring Bindra along with the late artist’s dead body was also leaked. Now, a social organization named Sangarsh, has sent an application to the Versova police station to register a complaint against Dolly Bindra and the medical staffs of Kokilben Hospital for manhandling Pratyusha’s body. Prithviraj Maske, the president of the organization, shared with us, “It is deeply disturbing that the leaked image of Dolly Bindra along with the dead body of Pratyusha is getting viralised. I even heard that Dolly has leaked in the media another conversation of her with Partyusha’s mother.” “Anyone, who commits suicide must have gone through a lot of pain, how can someone try to take undue advantage of such a situation? Moreover, her body was later on sent to Siddharth hospital for post-mortem and no one was allowed inside, given the security of the matter. Then how the staff allowed Bindra to click an image of the body”? For Maske, the issue is also about safeguarding the public interest. “Kokilaben has been built on MHADA property, considering the fact that many would visit the hospital for treatment, the authorities shouldn’t allow such negligence. If they continue to do so someday, someone else can tamper with someone’s corpse, which would hamper forensic investigations later on”. So, has the police yet registered the case? Maske replied, “We have already filed an application. Since, it is a special case, the in-charge of Versova police station Kale is supposed to have a word with his higher authorities and post that they will decide on how to proceed further.” We have to wait to see what the authorities at Kokilaben and Bindra has to say about the same. #PrayForPratyusha
