With Friendship Day round the corner (4 August 2013), it’s time for celebration on Channel [V]. Instead of celebrating just a day of friendship, the channel has decided to celebrate the entire month of August as Friendship month. A source informs us, “To kick start the celebrations, a Friendship Day special music video has been shot featuring the popular faces of all fiction shows of the channel. The video will have dance, drama, romance, masti and most importantly, the magic of friendship.” The song has been sung by Sara Ali- daughter of Lucky Ali– and Shadaab Hashmi who is also the music director for the song. Popular characters of Suvreen and Soni from Suvreen Guggal-Topper of the year, Ayaan and Anushka from Crazy Stupid Ishq , Rey, Swayam and Sharon from Dil Dostii Dance and KD, Kiya, Piddi, RV and Panchi from The Buddy Project will be seen in the video that will be launched on 9 August. Said Kunwar Amar, the popular face of D3, “The video has a very international appeal to it, and when it comes on air, the people are going to love it. It was a superb experience and we got to dance, what more could we have asked?” Says Nikhil Mehta, who plays Piddi, “It was really fun to work with actors from all shows. The audience will surely love the video; we had a great time shooting for the same.” Excited already? Well, the treat doesn’t end here, as other than this, various online activities have also been planned for the entire month. On the channel’s official page on Facebook, plus the individual show pages, you can see behind the scenes of the music video and various stills of the shoot. The friendship song can be downloaded through these pages and an app is being created which will form the longest online friendship band where users can log in and wish their friends. Also a four-day contest will be organised on Twitter while some other really interesting surprises are being planned for the viewers on the mobile platform.
