2009 has been another drought hit year but the heavy showers in the last few days has ushered in a ray of hope for the poor farmers and also the people of the state. The MET department has forecasted more showers in the coming days. However, the rains have dampened the spirit of Balaji Telefilms putting off their plans to start shooting for their new show Bairi piya. Wait a minute! Isn’t Bari piya suppose to show the plight of poor farmers of our country? So, the rains should all the more be welcomed by them. Well, it’s not that Balaji doesn’t want our farmers to prosper but their plans to shoot in drought affected areas have gone for a toss with the rain lashing down the state over the last few days. “We were supposed to start shooting but the rains have delayed the schedule. To give it an authentic look, we wanted to shoot in the drought affected areas but the rains have played spoilsport. I have no idea as to when we’ll start shooting now,” said actor Sharad Kelkar. Lead actress Supriya Kumari adds, “I believe the weather forecast isn’t good for the next few days. We’re keeping our fingers crossed. It’s always better to shoot in actual drought locations to give your show an authentic look. I’ve had my experiences while shooting for . Initially, it’s tough but with time you learn to cope with it. I can’t wait for the shoot to start.”
