In today’s time where daily soaps rule, a historical series which has been planned with a lot of research and hard work going into it, is indeed a sure-shot success story. It is different as it helps educate the masses with many a historical truths of the past. The scale in which these shows get planned, the magnificent sets, the lavish costumes and designs make for a visual treat. At the 13th Indian Telly Awards, we have three such shows which have been trendsetters for various reasons.

Buddhaa-Rajaon Ka Raja (Zee TV)
A superb concept, never attempted befor on Indian Television. The show got talked about for its very good ensemble cast, the realistic sets, the stunning costumes and accessories. A show well-made is what we can say!!
Bharat Ka Veer Putra Maharana Pratap (Sony Entertainment Television)
This show has re-defined the historical on TV and given it a new meaning. The show has been extremely popular for its cast, performances and the huge and lavish sets.
Jodha Akbar (Zee TV)
Extremely popular show, which again presents viewers with a novel historical subject. The show has had its low phases after getting caught in a lot of controversies. But as they say, every publicity is good publicity. In short, nothing has affected the show from growing in numbers!!
