Oman’s Asma Rafi has won Indian hearts with her impish sense of humour but that wasn’t enough for her to progress in <em> Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2009</em>. The bubbly Omani has been eliminated from the show.
A reliable source from the sets informs, “For far too long, Asma’s theatrics has overshadowed her singing but this time the public didn’t come to her help. All the mentors too felt her performance wasn’t again to the mark.”

Right from the beginning, Asma has amused viewers with her pretty smile and the manner in which she spoke Hindi. She also attracted attention when she disclosed about her sordid relationship with her mother, who didn’t approve of her daughter’s career in singing. This act wasn’t appreciated by her fellow competitors who didn’t mince words in lambasting her. However, the public still kept voting for her but all that support couldn’t grant her a place in the final five.
Asma’s elimination episode will air this weekend at 10.00 pm on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2009. This Saturday, viewers will also get to see stand-up comedian VIP.
