Ravi Dubey

MUMBAI: Ravi Dubey is one such actor on the small screen who doesn't need any introduction.

The actor has been a part of the TV industry for a very long time and established a name for himself.

Ravi has had several hit TV shows to his credit so far.

Jamai Raja, Saas Bina Sauraal, 12/24 Karol Baug among others are some of the hit TV shows of Ravi.

After proving himself as a talented TV star, Ravi stepped into the world of web shows and films. The actor gained an equal amount of popularity there too.

Ravi along with Sargun launched their debut production house's show Udaariyaan last year.

The show is working wonders on the small screens.

It's not even a year since the duo launched Udaariyaan and they are back with yet another show Swaran Ghar under Dreamiyata Productions.

The show stars Ronit Bose Roy and Sangita Ghosh in the lead roles.

Swaran Ghar has already become the talk of the town.

TellyChakkar got in touch with Ravi who spoke at length about the show and much more.

What was your family's reaction after seeing the promo of Swaran Ghar?

They were very excited about it. I think things are unfolding in our lives gradually. I think it is bringing more pride to our parents than it is bringing to us. That would be our biggest win if we can get them honored and recognized. Sargun has immortalized her nani by giving Sangita Ghosh's character the name of Swaran. I think I want to continue doing this in our future projects as well. I want this thing as a commonality in the future.

After successfully producing your debut daily soap Udaariyaan, you and Sargun are all set for Swaran Ghar. Are you nervous about the viewers' response?

Not at all. In fact, I and Sargun never worry about that at all. Why think about it when certain things aren't in your control? When the universe gives you the opportunity, give your best.

How challenging was the casting process for this show?

Once the script is ready, it becomes the backbone of the show. Whatever brainstorming happens, it happens in a collaborative space. As an actor, no matter how much you write a script and sketch the character, the moment you hit the floor, the character takes a different turn. While the script is the backbone, everything else also plays a major role. There are many clinical variables as well. Everything comes together to form a great show.

Does the journey from being an actor to now a director/producer feel surreal to you?

Not at all. It is the same industry. We have been a part of this industry for a very long time. I think someone up there knows that Sargun and I are highly invested in whatever we do. Therefore, these rewards are there. We are nobody to claim them. But I have great gratitude that we have the intention to work very hard. Both of us don't stop. So, if somebody up there is watching us at some point in time, they give a pat on the back that we are good kids.

Swaran Ghar is all set to hit the small screens from 28th February onwards!
