I don’t regret being a part of Dr. Madhumati: Debina Bonnerjee

The practice of shows going on air and being pulled off in a jiffy has become a norm of sorts in today’s time, thanks to cut throat competition in the game of ratings.

One project which showed promise but got dodgy mid way is SAB TV’s Dr. Bhanumati.

Reason?

Kavita Kaushik, the female lead, opted out of the series owing to differences with the show’s creatives and to accommodate the protagonist vacuum, Debina Bonnerjee was roped in, and the title got re-christened Dr Madhumati.

Debina, a strong and credible face on Indian television, did her best to hold the ship steady but alas, within two months of its launch, Dr. Madhumati has been taken off the programming self on SAB TV.

Yes, as per media reports, Dr. Madhumati on Duty will air its last episode on 30 September (2016).

When a show goes off the beam, it’s certainly saddening for the lead character/s. However, feisty Debina is taking things in stride.

Tellychakkar.com got in touch with Debina, who shared, “I knew that show will end in three months time. It had a particular storyline which had to end some day. I consider Dr. Madhumati on Duty as one of my best projects. I took up this show as I had something different to deliver for my viewers and fans. My job was to perform well. I am happy to have played the role of a hot and sexy Madhumati. Ratings are not my concern.”

Does she regret being a part of the serial, to which she replied, “Not at all. I enjoyed being a part of the project. After reading the ‘off air news’ I have got lot of messages from fans that they we will miss me. So much love and affection I have received from masses that there is no point of regretting.”

Keep up the good work, Debina!
