MUMBAI : Sony Entertainment Television’s popular show Mere Dad Ki Dulhan depicts a loving relationship between a father and daughter, Amber and Niya, as the daughter is on a mission to find a suitable bride for her dad. While the audience has loved the cute relationship between father-daughter, played by Varun Badola and Anjali Tatrari, in real life too, Varun and Anjali share a great bond.

Niya has gone through various struggles and did overcome many challenges in life, thanks to her encouraging father Amber Sharma. While she has been on the pursuit to find a companion for her father, Amber has been equally supportive of her decisions in life whether it was concerning her career or her wish to see him happy with a companion in life. Amber has always looked out for his daughter and pushed her in the right direction to achieve her goals. Varun feels just as much protective of Anjali off-screen, too.

Talking about their genuine equation, he shares, “I treat Anjali like my own daughter, so if I am protective of her in the show, I’m protective of her in real life too. Amber and Niya understand each other well be it in the matters of heart, career, or life. Similarly, Anjali is just like my own child. We share a beautiful equation, where we really understand each other. Other than our roles, we discuss a lot about acting and career in general. Whenever she has any questions on any of these things, Anjali knows I’m always there to guide her and answer her queries. I’ll always have her back, she is my bachu.”
