Sid Makkar, who rose to fame with Zee's Betiyaan is enjoying his current stint with Mere Apne on 9X. He is essaying the role of Shankar, the youngest son of Kashinath Pandey (Vinod Khanna) in the show. Sid is so fond of Shankar's character that now he wants to be like him in real life as well.

"Shankar is the character that is very close to my heart. I would love to be like him in my real life too," says Sid.

Elaborating further he says, "Shankar is a raw and rugged guy but loves his family from the depths of his heart. He lives for the moment. Shankar is an angry young man and by playing this role I feel a little close to what Amitji (Amitabh Bachchan) was in his movies."

"I've reached out my own range by portraying this character. I have worked hard on the physicality of the character, the hair and the intensity of the eyes with the look that is rough. Even the costume like kurta's with mojadis has changed my image of Satyakam in Betiyaan," he adds.

Sid touched the skies with the role of Satyakam on Zee. "Betiyaan was the best thing that happened to me. I feel great that I was a part of the show," he chirps.

Well, besides this show the angry young man of television has bagged a flick. "I can't reveal much about the film as it's too early to spill the beans. Yes, I'm doing a movie opposite Gul Panag. It's a comedy and Vinay Pathak is also playing an important role in the film," utters Sid.

Well let the audiences decide whether you are a BIG B of the small screen or not.
