To most people an actor’s life is all about the fame and the glory. But not many realise that behind all the shine, glitz and glamour, there is a lot sweat and toil that an actor puts in to convincingly convey a role to the audience. Sanam Jung is one such actor who holds true to this thought. Sanam who is currently seen as Romaisa in the critically and commercially acclaimed ‘Mohabbat Subha Ka Sitara Hai’, on Zindagi. Airing every Monday to Saturday at 8:00 pm, the actress plays a role that is very unlike her real self. To commit to the character, Sanam underwent a lot of introspection and got deeply involved with the character so as to realistically relate to Romaisa and her circumstances. In fact, she got so deeply involved in her character that while shooting the death sequence of her husband Nabeel (Mikaal Zulfiqar) for the show, Sanam was so impacted that she actually underwent depression for several days post her shoot.

In the show, the character of Romaisa is that of a simple sweet girl that has seen a lot of tragedy in her life and the death of her husband leaves her absolutely devastated. Getting into the skin of the character, Sanam while playing the part of Romaisa spent the entire day mourning and crying over the loss of a loved one. The scene really affected her and she carried her emotions home and it took her a while to shake off the depression to get back to her normal self. Taking this in her stride, Sanam believes that this is an unfortunate side effect of her profession. But her commitment to the character of Romiasa has definitely made a mark in her acting journey and is sure to make an impact on the audiences who watch the show. Do we have this in a quote? Mohabbat Subha Ka Sitara Hai is a modern day Cinderella story. It is a story about Romaisa, an orphan, who lives with her cruel and money-minded aunt. A rich businessman, Nabeel (Mikaal Zulfiqar), falls in love with Romaisa and marries her. Nabeel’s family, except for his younger brother, Zeeshan (Adeel Hussain) ill-treats Romaisa. Misfortune strikes Romaisa again when Nabeel dies in a car crash a few months after marriage. Romaisa, now a widow, is ill-treated by her in-laws and is pressurised to marry Nabeel’s younger brother, Zeeshan when they find out that she is expecting his child and that Nabeel has willed all his wealth to Romaisa.
