Madhuri Dixit is not judging Sony’s Dance Premier Leagueas a nanny could not be arranged for her kids. And in steps Rani Mukherjee as judge. TellyChakkar has reported that Rani Mukherjee was tipped to judge the show and now it is confirmed that she has accepted the show. The dance reality show will mark the debut of Rani on television.

A source confirms, “The producers were to arrange for a nanny for Madhuri’s kids which they couldn’t. So Madhuri has decided to opt out of the show. The production house then got in Rani Mukherjee who has almost accepted. Her film Hadippa on which she had pinned a lot of hopes has bombed and the actress is quite low. She has also decided on trying her luck with a different medium. She has therefore accepted the offer. Moreover she is a trained dancer and has the right background in the field of dancing.”

Ali Morani of Cineyug confirmed the news and said, “Madhuri was keen on doing the show but she couldn’t find a nanny for her school-going kids in the U.S. Rani Mukherjee has been finalised as the second judge on the show. She will be adjudicating the gala round along with Shiamak Dawar.”

When asked if Rani has replaced Madhuri, Morani said, “Rani was always in the fray of things and we were just waiting for her nod. The show actually had three judges but Madhuri’s inability to do the show has left the show with two judges – Rani and Shiamak.”

We contacted Danish Khan, Marketing head, Sony for confirmation but he did not revert.

DPL goes on air on October 9.
