Manish Nawani who is currently playing Avijit Chandan Roy in Channel V’s The Buddy Project dropped into Tellychakkar.com’s office yesterday (25 April 2013) as guest editor. This English Honours graduate from Delhi University and postgraduate in filmmaking from St. Xavier’s in Mumbai has previously played Naakul in 12/24 Karol Bagh, Dhruv Singh Rathore in Roomies, a negative character in an episode of Gumrah and Loveleen Malhotra in the movie Shuttlecock Boys by Hemant Gaba which went on to win positive reviews.

He slipped into the role of a guest editor for Tellychakkar.com with élan. He took a telephonic interview of two of his friends who are currently his co-stars in The Buddy Project. He took a half hour long very friendly telephonic interview with Samridh Bawa who plays his arch rival Omi Dahiya in The Buddy Project. We will soon update our site with the long interview he took- the fans of the show who are used to seeing them fighting on screen will surely be delighted to come to know how close buddies they are in real life. Often TV actors forget all those people who had helped them when they were struggling. Manish made sure to amply thank Sudhir Sharma, the Producer of Sunshine Productions, who had cast him in his former show 12/24 Karol Bagh and has also offered him a meaty role in The Buddy Project.

He also expressed bountiful gratitude to Aditya Kriplani, who taught him scriptwriting in St. Xavier’s. Manish said, “Besides being a great teacher he was my first friend in Mumbai. He is like an elder brother to me. He is a prolific writer- I have fond memories of selling his novel Back Seat.”

Manish who has lost his dear dad Lal Nawani last year told is in a video interview how close he was to him. He even wears his late dad’s watch as it brings back fond memories of him. He said, “My brother Kapil who lives with my mother Asha in Delhi takes good care of her. I too call her more often than I used to, now that my father is no more. I want to make sure that she doesn’t get lonely.”

Stay tuned as we will update the interviews Manish took and also post his long video interview. We wish this handsome and talented actor all the best in his profession ahead.
