Sneha Rajani has made her mark as a TV executive. First as the head of Max- the cricket and movie channel from the Sony stable - wherein she innovated on the IPL with her seniors CEO Kunal Dasgupta, COO NP Singh and President Rohit Guptaand her Max team mates and made it a hugely successful televised entertainment property. And over the past year and a half as the Business Head of Sony Entertainment Television - this time under CEO Manjit Singh and COO NP Singh once again - she has turbocharged and awakened a sleepy channel into a fighting fit machine capable of giving the GEC leaders - Star Plus, Colors and Zee TV - a solid run for their money and sleepless nights. Tellychakkar.com caught up with Sneha at the launch of Love Marriage Ya Arranged Marriage. We congratulated her on Sony bagging the second position on the TRP ladder. Her very humble response: “Thanks a lot. We are all trying to work hard.” And it’s double dhammal for the ambitious, fiery and practical lady as Balaji Telefilms’ Bade Acche Lagte Hain has also shot up on the TRP chart with a whopping rating of 4.2TVR. “It is very overwhelming. I have always had faith in Ekta (Kapoor) and knew that the show will do well after the leap. Ekta understands the concept of TRPs very well. Personally, I won’t say that Sony is greedy for TRPs but it feels good when shows connect and get appreciated by the masses.” And Hats off Productions’ Byaah Hamari Bahu Ka has also seen a rise in viewership numbers. “Yes, initially the track got diverted. We had to sort out certain issues and streamline things. But now everything looks good and we are glad that people are taking notice of it.” Sneha ended by stating, “Sony will soon come up with more interesting shows and of course, there is KBC which has always been loved by the masses.
