Now 9X’s mytho Jai Maa Vaishno Devi

Channels are now turning to the Gods to ramp up their TRP charts and break the clutter from the routine saas-bahu sagas. After NDTV's Ramayan , STAR introduced Mahabharata and Sony too followed suit and decided to re-telecast Jai Hanuman. Now a little birdie tells us that 9X is also joining the bandwagon and have approached veteran producer Dheeraj Kumar to produce a mega devotional show for them.

A source from the channel says, “This mega devotional show will be titled Jai Maa Vaishno Devi. Goddess Vaishno is worshipped highly in the northern region of India so the channel in a way is targeting the northern audiences. Other channels are repeating Ramayan and Mahabharat but with making a show on Goddess Vaishno, 9X has tried to do something different rather than repeating the same old stuff.” Talking about the story-line, a source from the production house says, “It is about the changing times from TretaYug to Kalyug and about the fact that God is omnipresent. It’s about re-incarnation that has been happening time and again. This show is different as it will connect God with present times (Kalyug). It is relation between God and karma. One can say it is a mytho plus a social show as it will create social awareness as well.” When contacted Dheeraj Kumar, Creative Eye, said, “Creative Eye which holds a record (Limca book of world records) of highest number of mythological hours which amounts to 700 hours. We are making mythologicals since 1996. The difference between the shows that we made in 1996 and the show today is the technology advancement. This will be superior in terms of graphics and animation, jewellery, costumes and infrastructure.” “Though we are looking at viewers from every corner but as everyone knows that Goddess Vaishno is worshipped more in the northern regions of the country. We are targeting the age-group from 4-60 years,” adds the producer. Though the producer does not reveal who has been signed on for the lead he says, “When it comes to mythological shows one can’t take established faces for the sole reason that they get typecast. I have got in new and talented faces.” May Maa Vaishno Devi shower her blessings on one and all.
