Anyone who is an avid viewer of Zee Café, would have known that a new series The OC is coming their way! The Orange County, America’s favourite teen drama series is all set to launch on Friday, 30 December, 2005 at 9:30 p.m. for the first time in India on Zee Café. This is in a series of teen shows that has blasted into the Indian airspace. From the Indian stable, we have MTV's Pyar Vyar and All That and SaharaOne's Saath Rahega Always which have been launched in the last couple of months, and there are shows on Star World like Life as we know it, which again deals with teen issues. Indian audieces have in the past watched shows like Challenge, Campus, Banegi Apni Baat, Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi and Hip Hip Hurray which have had mass appeal. Hi Hip....now is being re telecast on Hungama TV. “The content in OC is something that teenagers across the globe can relate to. The trials and tribulations and the ups and downs in their lives is like a page out of the book from any teenager’s life across the globe and we strongly feel the show has appeal to teens even in India. It has become a powerful style force, influencing trends in music, fashion and youth culture abroad.,” says, Neil Chakravarti, business head, Zee Café. In the past three months teh channel has aired nine new seasons of nine of the most popular shows in the English entertainment genre. Currently the third season of OC is on air internationally and the fans are just multiplying exponentially with each new season and each new episode. The show stars Peter Gallagher, Kelly Rowan, Kelly Rowan, Ben McKenzie, Mischa Barton, Adam Brody, Chris Carmack, Melinda Clarke, Rachel Bilson and Alan Dale.
