Earlier in the day, Tellychakkar.com broke the news of Producer Raakesh Paswan coming up with a fiction show on Sahara One. And now, we again have exclusive news about Optimystix Entertainment coming up with a very interesting concept for Sahara One.

Titled as ‘Firangi Bahu’, this new show will be about an abroad-bred girl who is very ‘Indian’ in thoughts. The girl has humungous knowledge about India and its culture, and values relationships and joint family system to its fullest. The girl will fall in love with a conservative Gujarati boy who comes abroad for studies. And that is when the boy brings the Firangi Bahu home to his own land. The manner in which the Firangi Bahu finds a place in the hearts of her new family members forms the crux of the story.

As per a reliable source, the makers had flown down many aspiring actresses from all over the globe to fit into the role of the Firangi Bahu. Ultimately, it was Sippora from Holland who came through the auditions and got selected. Sippora as her reel character, is a master of all trades – she is good at kathak and various other dance forms, ice-skating, Yoga etc.

Playing her lover and husband will be Rohit Bharadwaj. Talented actress Indira Krishnan who was last seen in Krishnaben Khakrawala will play the young saas of the Firangi Bahu. The lady is very principled, yet very friendly with her bahu.

When contacted, Indira told Tellychakkar.com, “Yes, it is true that I will be playing the saas in Firangi Bahu. It is a very interesting character, and I am game for it. I have never worked with Sahara, and this is a huge show in terms of concept for them. I am hoping that it does well.”

Deepmala, Pranauti Pradhan and various other Gujarati theatre personalities will also be part of the show. The show is slated to launch sometime in mid-November (2013).

We tried contacting Producer Vipul Shah, but he remained out of reach.

Get ready for this slice-of-life show coming from Optimystix on Sahara One.
