MUMBAI: Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai fame Shivangi Joshi is going through a tough time. The actress lost her grandfather (dadaji) on May 18. She took to Instagram sometime back to share this sad news. Shivangi is currently under quarantine in Dehradun and celebrated her 22nd birthday just yesterday. She had also planned to go live to thank her fans for sending her birthday wishes but had to cancel it because of this unfortunate news.

The diva wrote, 'Unfortunate to lose my grandfather yesterday, may he smile and look upon us from the sky'. Shivangi was quite close to her granddad and had even shared a picture with him when he paid her a surprise visit on the sets of YRKKH. 

Talking about the show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, the serial has made Shivangi a household name. As the lockdown was imposed, Shivangi chose to go back to Dehradun to be with her family.
