Legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra breathed his last yesterday i.e Sunday evening (21 October 2012) at Mumbai’s Lilavati hospital, leaving each and every soul in utter distress. Yash ‘King of Romance’ Chopra went on to gift movie lovers with some of the finest cinematic experiences. Be it rustic Deewar, Trishul or poetry on celluloid…Kabhie Kabhie and Silsila…his life became synonymous with cinema. Every single top star has worked with him; some had the biggest breaks in their career with his films, or movies produced under his banner. His sudden demise spread a blanket of pensiveness on the entire entertainment fraternity. TV celebs took to Twitter and Facebook to express their condolences. Here’s what they said… Ram Kapoor- I'm in a state of shock! I was with Yash ji just last week during the screening of SOTY, just can't make myself believe that he's gone!!! Ronit Roy- Whenever we met he met me with so much warmth and love. Will miss you Sir. An era comes to an end. 1932-2012 Yash Chopra, RIP. Sakshi Tanwar- R.I.P Yash Chopra "king of Romance''!! We all will miss you! He was the best director ever, we all grew up with his movies. Tisca Chopra- What a giant of a man &what a genius of a talent. He produced some of the finest romance films in all of Indian Cinema (Bollywood). Thankful to have met him and worked on the set of Neal N Nikki in Vancouver & Mumbai. An experience I will never forget. Amit Behl- End of an era..RIP Yashji...... Prashant Bhatt- R.I.P. Yashji......u have no idea to how many people u have been a teacher. Invariably in every show, i hv ended up gvg references to his style of narration....the mounting of his scenes....the play of emotions and most importantly romance. He was and will always be (for me) the king of romance...the master of "thinking big and thinking different". No one could romance the silver screen like he did! Sanjeeda Sheikh- RIP the real king of romance....still remember the day where saw him dining wit his wife on the valentines day..couple holdin hand in hand..This is real romance which came across in his films also...jab tak hain jaan u will always b remembered n missed... Meiyang Chang- Very, very sad & at a loss for words at Yash Chopra ji's unexpected demise. This was definitely not the way to go.
