The Multiplex Association of India is urging creators, producers, and actors to hold their films for releases in theatres in an attempt to save the years-long tradition of 'the collective, social experience of watching films on the big screen'.

However, given the situation, small-budget films do benefit from digital releases, but not much can be defined for big-budget films.
