Currently seen in Agle janam mohe bitiya hi kijo , actor Shakti Arora is awaiting the release of his flick titled Man’s World . The film has a gamut of television actors like Mouli Ganguly and Smita Bansal. The actors focuses on the forbidden topic of male-prostitution prevalent in our society. The movie also has actors like Ankit Sakuja, Mohsin Akhtar, Nikhil Chandiramani and Ranjit Jha. Talking of his role Arora informs, “My character is that of a simpleton from a village in Punjab, who comes to Mumbai all starry-eyed to make it big in the world of acting. But unfortunately he doesn’t get work and is forced to land up in the dirty world of male prostitution to earn his daily bread. Smita Bansal is playing my love interest in the movie and she too is from the dark world of prostitution. We have tried to focus on the emotional aspect of the beautiful relationship and there are no explicit scenes.” Talking about the lessons the actor has learnt, he says, “I wasn’t aware that such a thing called male prostitution existed. I knew about gigolos but this has come as a surprise to me. I had interacted with real male sex workers for the movie to know how they work and how much they charge. It has been an eye-opening experience for me and I was really moved by the kind of lives they lead. I feel sad for them that they have to go through such experiences. There are many of them who get into this with consensus and a few others are actually forced to. They get raped and then the only option they find is to take up the profession.” The actor is highly impressed by the work of Abhay Deol and states that given a chance he would do such movies for free. His movie Man’s World is expected to hit theaters sometime by the end of this year.
