Faisal Khan presented himself with the perfect gift on his birthday. On 23 December, Faisal Khan took a hat-trick while playing a cricket match against Boxy Boyz at the Goregoan Sports Complex. Unfortunately, despite taking a hat-trick, Faisal’s team Actorletics lost out narrowly to the Boxy Boyz . Nevertheless, that in no way has dampened his joy of taking a hat-trick. An elated Faisal says, “I didn’t sleep the previous night as I busy partying. Next morning, I got up and headed straight for this match. I couldn’t have asked for a better gift on my birthday – first hat-trick in a competitive game. Apparently, I didn’t realise it immediately. I bowled Sharad but there was some confusion over his dismissal as he felt that the ball had kept very low. This took away some time and so when the game resumed and I got two more wickets off successive balls but I didn’t realise it that it was a hat-trick. It was only after few minutes that I was told of my incredible feat.” In all, Faisal got the wickets of Sharad Kelkar, Manav Gohil, Dilip Agarwal and Kabir Sadanand. Surprisingly, the actor can’t recollect the order of his hat-trick. “Sharad Kelkar was the first to be dismissed while Dilip was the last. I can’t recollect who my second wicket was. It must have been Manav or Kabir. As long as I got a hat-trick it doesn’t matter who the batsman was,” says the off-spinner For the record, the Actorletics lost the match by 18 runs. Boxy Boyz amassed 230 runs in 30 overs while Faisal’s side fought valiantly and were eventually dismissed for 212. “It would have been nice had we won he match. However, it was a great effort on our side. We required some 60 runs in the last three overs and we fell short by just 18. We’re currently trailing them by three matches to one but we’re confident of turning the tide in the next game,” the Actorletics skipper remarked. Here’s wishing the actor more such birthdays.
