DD, AIR line up special programmes on Farooque Shaikh's 66th birth anniversary on 25 March

Farooque Shaikh
In its zest to celebrate the 66th birth anniversary of Farooque Shaikh on 25 March, Doordarshan and All India Radio have lined up special programmes on the occasion. While DD's national channel will telecast Shaikh’s starrer Chashme Buddoor at 3.00 pm on 23 March, AIR's Vividh Bharati plans to prepare a special "half an hour show at least" on the day of the anniversary, says the channel's Mumbai head Rupali Kulkarni. Most probably the programme would be aired in the ‘Aaj Ke Fankaar’ show at 9.30 am with a repeat broadcast at 9.30 pm the same day. Incidentally, one of his last films Youngistaan is scheduled to release three days after his birth anniversary on 28 March. The actor-philanthropist passed away on 28 December last year when he was vacationing in Dubai.
