MUMBAI: Janhvi Kapoor is spreading her wings in the South film industry. She is going to be seen with Jr NTR in Devara. She is said to have a meaty role to play in the film. The first look of the actress as Thangam grabbed a lot of attention.

Before Devara Part 1 releases in theatres, Janhvi Kapoor's next biggie from the South has been announced. She is the leading lady in Ram Charan's next film. It is still untitled so is known as RC16. In March, to mark Ram Charan's birthday, the announcement of Ram Charan's 16th film took place and Janhvi Kapoor joined the team in Hyderabad. It is the young diva's second Telugu film. Well, this movie is pretty special as it has Sridevi connection.

RC16 holds a special significance for both Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor. They are sort of carrying forward the legacy set by their parents. Long ago, Ram Charan's father Chiranjeevi and Janhvi Kapoor's late mother Sridevi shared the screen space in Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari. They made for a hit on-screen pair and were loved by the masses. Ram and Janhvi are now the torchbearers of this lineage and are up to embark on a journey to nail it on screen with their chemistry. Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor's fresh pairing has already left fans excited for RC16 which is now in production stage. RC16 is helmed by Buchi Babu Sana. The movie is directed by Mythri Film Makers.

Earlier, it was Boney Kapoor who had confirmed the news of Janhvi Kapoor teaming up with Ram Charan. In an interview with iDream Media, he said that Janhvi is loving the work she is doing in Telugu cinema and enjoying on the sets. She has also been watching a lot of Telugu films. He added that Sridevi did many films in many languages and hopes that his daughter will do it too. He has his fingers crossed that Janhvi Kapoor's films with Jr NTR and Ram Charan will work at the box office.
