Baishakhi Banerjee and Deepak Gawade strike 'gold'; win National Award for their short film

Baishakhi Banerjee and her husband Deepak Gawade have finally achieved their dream!! Their first short film on the life of a six year old boy struggling for importance is a ‘true winner!!’

Yes, their short film titled Heyro Party which is of the duration of 30 minutes has won the National Award for Family Values.

Time to celebrate, for the entire team involved in the making of the short film!!

Baishakhi, a known name in the television industry for her creative contribution to many a successful shows has produced the short film. She has also been involved in writing dialogues and lyrics. Baishakhi, who began her career as a crime reporter in Kolkata went on to helm shows like Left Right Left, Choti Bahu Season 1 to name a few. She then moved in as the Creative Head at Beyond Dreams Entertainment and managed the creative aspects of Ek Veer Ki Ardaas Veera and Junoon. Now, she is the Creative Director of the DJ’s show Ek Mutthi Aasman on Zee TV.

Her husband Deepak Gawade is into movie production and has been associated with movies like Sarkar Raj, Dirty Picture, Once Upon a Time in Mumbai and many more. Deepak has been involved in the screenplay and direction of the short film that has shot to fame.

Talking about this new experience, Baishakhi told Tellychakkar.com, “Shooting this short film was an enchanting experience. This was the first time we ventured into such a territory, though I have always wanted to do something like this. Shooting in Kolkata with technicians who had the passion for doing something different was appreciable. We are overwhelmed on bagging the National Award.”

Baishakhi and Deepak will be leaving to Delhi on 3 May to collect their National Award.
