Here's why this Janmashtami is special for Shubhaavi Choksey

Shubhaavi Choksey

MUMBAI: Actor Shubhaavi Choksey usually never celebrates the festival of Janmashtami due to a personal loss, but this year is different. The actor, who has been getting a great response for her role in the show Kasautii Zindagii Kay, says she has a lot to be thankful for this year. "My father’s name was Krishnappa and he was born on Janmashtmi. He passed away 15 years ago and since then I haven’t celebrated this day as I used to before. But this year has been different and I thank Lord Krishna for all that I have got. I feel truly blessed," she says.

The actor says it was her grandmother who would often teach her Lord Krishna's teachings. "I do not know much but whatever I do know, it's from my grandmother. His teachings are so positive, close to nature and applicable to everyday life," she says.

Ask her what she loves about Lord Krishna, and she says, "Lord Krishna’s eyes are the most mesmerising thing for me... They have so much masti yet you feel calm when you look into his eyes! I don’t go to the iskon temple during Janmashtmi but I try to go atleast once in a year."
