The Mohan sisters are really talented. Shakti Mohan gained immense popularity with Dil Dostii Dance and now, Neeti Mohan is basking all the glory for her crooning skills.
Neeti, a singer by profession, is the eldest of the lot. Having been a member of the Aasma group, she later participated in Star Plus’ Music Ka Maha Muqabla in which she was part of the winning team- Rockstars led by Shankar Mahadevan. She also played a pivotal role in the film Socha Na Tha along with Abhay Deol.
Says Neeti, “I will soon be singing for Coke Studio 2 along with A R Rehman sir on MTV. The song will be a mix of jazz and Rajasthani folk, a one of its kind’s song. I will also be featuring in the last episode that will comprise of various artistes.”
But these days she is in super kicked and in the news for impressive rendition of one of the songs in Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming flick Jab Tak Hain Jaan.
“I have also loved singing Ishq Wala Love in Student of The Year. It’s a very matured and peppy romantic number; while on the other hand, I like Jiya Re from Jab Tak Hai Jaan. It is a very rockstar kind of a song which features Anushka Sharma. She plays a very chilled out character in the film.”
She further shares, “Otherwise, I enjoyed singing every song of mine, be it Jiya Jale Jaa Jale in Dil Se or the Arabic version of Maiyan Maiyan in Guru to my own composition Ja Ja, which is a very touchy song that I composed along with my father Brijmohan.
Talking about my experience of working with AR Rehman sir, I would say it’s a delight; it was my dream come true. From the time I was 13, I wanted to meet and work with him and I feel lucky and blessed that I have performed for so many shows with him.”
Talking about her future plans, Neeti avers, “I would just say that I have one Punjabi film in which I have sung for Gul Panag. The song is very peppy.”
Among her wishes, Neeti would love to sing for Shakti Mohan one day.
