CID (Fireworks Productions), Sony Entertainment Television’s longest running series, has undoubtedly made its mark on the entire nation. But not many know that its popularity has reached internationally too. Recently the CID team got a taste of their international popularity when they were shooting for a special Makar Sankranti episode in Ahmedabad. The special episode features a murder mystery woven around the backdrop of the famous international Kite flying festival in the Gujarat capital. The Kite flying festival has been attracting millions of tourist since time immemorial. And, along with this year, the team attracted more crowds with them getting mobbed everywhere they reached to shoot for the special sequence. Added to that, a die heart crazy fan from a foreign land also got a chance to get up close with his favourite cops. Informs a source, “This international fan got to know from somewhere about the team shooting nearby and in no time he arrived on the set.” Although he did not disturb the shooting, the fan waited desperately to be clicked with his favourite stars. When the actors got to know about it, they were more than happy to oblige him and fulfill his wish. Observed B P Singh the producer of the show, “I was very glad to meet that fan! It obviously feels great when your work gets appreciated all around the world.” Well it seems that the CID team has truly managed to spread their popularity all around the globe.
