Hemant Pandey is funny. But call him funny and he will frown at you. The man, who can tickle you to death with his superb comic timing, is bored of comedy. Yes, you read it right. But before pondering upon it, let’s wish Hemant a very happy birthday. Yes, he is celebrating his 42nd birthday today (23 January 2012). So what is he planning to do on this special day? “Dal bhaat khayenge aur kya. I am grown up now. Birthday wirthday to baccho ke liye hain,” laughs Hemant. Okay, so no cake cutting or fancy dinner? “If my family members get me a cake, I will cut it. In the evening I will go out for dinner but nothing has been decided yet. But everything has to wrap up fast as I go to sleep by 10 pm.” Hmm…Hemant g you sound a bit bored. So we bring you a genie who will grant you three wishes. Go for it… “Ahhh… I don’t really want anything material. Bhagwaan ne sab kuch dia hain mujhe. Yes, but if I have to wish then I will tell the genie to take me to Jammu & Kashmir immediately. I want to enjoy the snow there.” That’s a great wish, we must say. Now that we have wished Hemant a very happy birthday, let’s come back to the point wherein he talks about his boredom with comedy. “I am actually bored. I want to experiment as an actor. Aisa role chahiye jo dhamaal macha de. I am currently a part of Comedy Circus, but it’s not that exciting. I am waiting for my upcoming movie, Two Nights in Soul Valley, where I play a serious role. Kuch alag mile to life main maza ayega,” shares Hemant. We hope the producers are listening to your wish. Furthermore, this is what he thinks of television as a medium. “I will suggest everyone not to waste time watching TV. Trust me, the medium has never inspired me. Pehle main saas rokke Neem Ka Ped aur Hum Log Dekhta Tha, abhi to sab bewakuf banane mein lage hain. Why watch TV and become a fool?” Well, those are some powerful words, Hemant. And this is what he shares with his fans while bidding adieu, “Well, live life and experience it. Char inch moti kitaab padhne se accha hain ki char mile ka walk le lo. If someone who is senior and has achieved something in life, listen to his sayings and suggestions. It will help you to grow as an individual. That’s it.” Now that’s what we call food for thought.
