A family affair!

Theirs is a world of their own…shining in all their screen glory. The Star Parivaar Awards were an exhibition of all the glitz and glamour of a world that makes stars out of commoners. This is an award given not for personal excellence, but for being part of a team, yet standing out amongst them! These are characters that make us laugh and cry, characters that evoke our sympathy and anger --- and they will never forget last Friday as the night that made them part of the Star Parivaar.

This is an award given not for personal excellence, but for being part of a team, yet standing out amongst them! These are characters that make us laugh and cry, characters that evoke our sympathy and anger --- and they will never forget last Friday as the night that made them part of the Star Parivaar. The show on stage was rocking, but the interesting bits happened backstage. Here's a sneak peek into what happened. The afternoon before the show took off was really happening…with the stars trooping in one by one. Komolika Guhathakurta, along with Jaya Bhattacharya (Gayatri chachi and Payal respectively in Kyunki…) walked in quite early, Komolika looking ravishing in blue and the neckline…well, depth was of essence there, quite unlike the chachi we know! Then there was Mona Wasu, who looked around for her co-star, Rahul ( Ajay Gehi), as soon as she entered the ground. Ajay made his presence felt when he said, "Is parivaar mein bahut ekta hai…par ye mat bhulna ki hum bhi hai" ---- prompting quite some people to break into giggles, most from Ekta Kapoor herself! But we hear Miilee wasn't amused and she chided her co-star about it. Eijaz Khan looked quite a sight wearing a pink shirt…he looked worried about his act that included a bike, and kept asking for the trainer…Was he being a perfectionist…or was it just stage fright? One thing that most are interested in is which star came in with whom…well, all the couples we know, came together….so there is no love lost there. We spotted Akashdeep Saigal and Shabbir together, hands on each others' shoulders, sharing secrets…what? Well that's a secret, remember? Then there was a on-screen couple who seemed to be inseparable --- our favourite bhabhi, Kumkum and her hubby Sumeet! A pair that sizzled, both on and off screen The one person who looked so different from her onscreen person was Savita aka Apara Mehta --- she graced the occasion wearing avery jazzy ghagra choli, and kept telling her makeup man to touch up her face and hair. Tassnim too wanted hers done…but Apara and her other co-stars reassured her that she looked impeccable. Hiten was heard singing the Star Parivaar song at the top of his ungs, why not we say, with all the plum roles coming his way! Both Hiten and Gauri were almost overrun by their fans, only to be saved by the security present. Natassha and Eijaz too were escorted outside by the security.Farida Jalal, the shrarati nani was heard complaining about the heat, but who cares when there are so many people around enjoying their night out! Shraddha Nigam was one hassled lady at the red carpet --- she came in and was reluctant to pose for the photographs because she was afraid that she would miss the performance of her dear friends, Hussain and Juhi! "Tell me, is their act over already?," she kept asking. Only when we reassured her that it was still to happen did she agree to pose for the lensmen…way to go, Shraddha! A couple that looked absolutely in love were Shakti Anand and Sai Deodhar, the Saara Akaash couple, now wedded in real life, who pointed out coyly that the saree she was wearing was an auspicious one…why not, it was the saree that was gifted to her by her hubby for her engagement! Spotted also were Neeru Bajwa and Amit Sadh…hand in hand! The night passed away in a blur…but surely it was a night that will not be forgotten in a hurry…and as the fire crackers illuminating the sky marked the end of the show, people watching knew that these are stars that will never fade out!
