Seasoned actress Rupa Divetia who has earlier been part of few Balaji Telefilms shows including the popular show Kkusum will soon make a comeback to television with Rashmi Sharma Productions’ show for Sony Pal, titled Pia Basanti Re. Rupa who was last seen in Sahara One’s Shorr has otherwise been seen in few episodics, that include Yeh Hai Aashiqui. In Pia Basanti Re, the seasoned actress will play the role of Baa, the elderly lady in the male lead’s family. She will play mother to Rasik Dave, who will be the father of the male lead (Alan Kapoor). The lady will be a very happy-go-lucky kind, who would not get into much of detailing when it comes to the day-to-day issues in the house. However, she would have a strong hold on the family values, and when things go wrong, she would insist that her family values her advises. She will be a pure hearted soul, who loves her grandchildren a lot. Earlier, actress Sejal Shah was supposed to play the role of the Baa. However, now it will be Rupa Divetia who will play the part. When contacted, Rupa told Tellychakkar.com, “I kept away from television for few years. I was on a tour to the USA recently. I was looking for a good offer. And this one actually fits the bill. It is true that I will be seen in Sony Pal’s show Piya Basanti Re. I am looking forward to the channel’s launch.” Piya Basanti Re has Alan Kapoor, Adaa Khan, Siddharth Shivpuri, Rashmi Singh and Sunayana Fozdar in central roles.
