The countdown to the New Year 2013 has begun!! However, the entire nation seems to be in a state of mourning, after the rape incident in Delhi and the death of the 23 year old that followed. But as the saying goes, ‘Umeed par duniya kaayam hai… and Chalti ka naam zindagi’… Tellychakkar.com caught up with few actors from the television industry to know how the year 2012 treated them and what they expect from the New Year. So here we go: Gurmeet Choudhary said, “2012 was a very nice year for me personally. Professionally Punar Vivah is doing good and winning Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa was a beautiful experience. Move to 2013 is the next natural step. My resolution is to enjoy my work and family.” Soumya Seth added, “2012 has been a real roller coaster. I played with life and she gave me back in equal measure. The best moment was when my show Navya got to the second spot in the TRP ladder. As for the bad happenings, I don’t want to talk as I went through a rough patch. I also lost my grandfather during the year.” Looking ahead she hopes that she will gets lots of happiness in 2013, “I have a number of plans which I hope will fructify, but again I don’t want to discuss them here.” As for party tonight, she wishes to spend some quiet moments with her family. “I need to be there for my grandma who is sill still recovering from the above shock.” Kushal Tandon shared, “2012 has been a good year and I hope 2013 will be another big successful year. I am really working hard to open the New Year with a bang in Nach Baliye 5 along with my girl Elena Boeva. As for resolution I hope to cut down my smoking and drinking.” Ravi Dubey stated, “I had a successful year with Saas Bina Sasural and now look forward to being a part of Nach Baliye 5. I hope 2013 continues to be as good personally and professionally.” On plans of marriage in the coming year, Ravi averred, “That depends on our parents. They just have to set a date and we will be ready. As for resolution I don’t really keep them as it makes no sense if you don’t follow them. Having said this, I do wish that I can become a much better person in the coming year.” Ridhi Dogra is quite disappointed at the current year and in a series of tweets said, “To all the beautiful people here...Cheers to 2013. Let's keep the flames burning in our heart. Let the light come out and light up the world. I pray and wish and hope for a little forgiveness, for compassion and love, for peace and harmony and for us to wake up!! Manifestating everything. I guess so. The universe does not fool. It’s us fooling around with it. .... On the last day of a very difficult Last day of this year. In every way we saw doomsday. Not once but from beginning to end. The universe is telling us something (sic).” Nakuul Mehta went on to comment, “2012 was a very good year for I not only got my debut Star Plus show Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara but also got married. I also met many good people. I will not party this year as I am disturbed by the present conditions in the country. Rather I will spend some quality time with family and some close friends who may drop in as well. As for 2013, I hope it will be as good professionally too. And personally I hope to spend some time with family which I have not been able to do this year. I don’t keep resolutions as we never walk the talk.” Shashank Vyas declared, “2012 was good. I got lots of affection from audiences for my work in Balika Vadhu. When your work is appreciated you feel good. I am just spending quality time with friends and have no intention of celebrations as the Delhi rape case is fresh in mind.” We wish a very Happy New Year to everyone!!!
