In 2022, a Kannada film named 'Kantara' hit the theatres on September 30 and the film went on to become a blockbuster. Kantara was the story of people from a village and it was made with a budget of just Rs 7 crore.

Rishab Shetty rose to prominence in the Hindi market with the cultural drama Kantara, which went on to become a sleeper hit at the box office in 2022. Ashutosh and Rishab have reportedly been in negotiations for some time.

Hombale Films' Kannada action thriller Kantara was one of the biggest sleeper hits of Indian cinema last year. The film, made on a modest budget of 16 crore, went on to collect around 400 crore worldwide, placing its lead star and director Rishab Shetty on a pan-India map.
