Rahil Azam out; Mohit Malik to play the anti-lead in Pearl Grey’s next for Zee TV

Mohit Malik
Pearl Grey’s Spellbound Productions is all set to go on floor soon with their first solo project. The yet untitled show which is for Zee TV will be a youth-oriented project with the backdrop of Jhansi. Our readers would remember that Tellychakkar.com was the first to report about the beautiful Neha Marda playing the female lead in the serial. We had also exclusively reported about Rahil Azam and Siddharth Arora being finalized to play the male leads. However, the latest is that Rahil has opted out of the show. And getting on board will be Mohit Malik who is presently seen in Channel [V]’s Suvreen Guggal – Topper of the Year. Yes, you heard it right!! Mohit had earlier been approached and even shortlisted for B.P. Singh’s cop-based show on Star Plus. However, there were reports that the actor had opted out of it due to a delay in the show’s launch. A reliable source now gives us confirmed news that Mohit has been roped in by Pearl Grey and the actor will play the anti-lead. For the uninitiated, Mohit was earlier part of Pearl’s popular show on Star Plus, Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya (which Pearl co-produced along with Walkwater Media Pvt. Ltd.) wherein he essayed the role of the antagonist Abhimanyu. When contacted, Mohit asked us to call later as he was busy. Our efforts to connect to Producer Pearl Grey were futile. We hear that the team is all set to travel to Jhansi for their first outdoor schedule very soon.
