Makar Sankranti is regarded as the commencement of an auspicious phase in Indian culture and gets the Indian festivities started in the New Year. Television’s latest bahu, is Sonali Nikam popularly known as Jassi in Zindagi's ‘Aadhe Adhoore’ that airs Monday to Saturday at 9:50pm. This Sankrant, Jassi celebrated the festival by preparing special Til Ladoos on the sets for the cast and crew of the show.            

Like her reel life character Jassi, Sonali too, is a culinary whiz. Sonali put her cooking skills to good use by making yummy Til ladoos for her Aadhe Adhoore family. Needless to say that the delicious ladoos were quickly devoured by all and the pretty actress was much appreciated for her ‘sweet’ gesture and her exceptional ladoos. Sonali also taught everyone on set the popular Marathi phrase ‘Til gul ghyaa aani godd godd bola!’ which literally means ‘Accept this til-gul (sweet) and utter sweet words’ which everyone sportingly chanted while munching on their sugary treat. 

Sonali said, “Makar Sankranti is one of my favourite festivals and I have great childhood memories of celebrating this vibrant festival. Since this year, I maybe shooting and unable to celebrate the festival with my family, I decided to celebrate it with my Aadhe Adhoore family. My favourite part of this festival is savouring the scrumptious Til ladoos. Since I have learnt the art of making Til ladoos from my mother and can roll ladoos with ease, I decided to make some on the set for the entire team. I hope they liked it.”

Priyanka Khera who plays Channi in the show commented, “This is the first time I have tried the Maharashtrian style home made Til ladoos and I have to say Sonali really impressed me with her prowess in the kitchen. She actually made around 50 ladoos for all of us in record time and needless to say we wiped them out in 10 mins.” 

Watch Sonali as Jassi, a simple Punjabi housewife, who tries to strike a perfect balance between the emotions she feels and the circumstance she finds herself trapped in, even while she is the perfect wife, bahu, and bhabhi. The show has an ensemble cast of popular actors like Geeta Udeshi, Rohit Bhardwaj, Priyanka Khera amongst others.
